A ex-modelo Kamila Cardoso, de 21 anos, conhecida como Irmã Eva, explicou em entrevista ao g1 o que a fez decidir seguir o caminho religioso. Segundo Eva, ela começou uma carreira como modelo mirim aos 8 anos, se tornou miss, mas a perda do pai, que a deixou órfã aos 9 anos, a levou a seguir o caminho religioso.

“Eu era modelo e era miss também. Comecei a ser modelo a partir dos 8 anos e eu parei um pouco, mas voltei novamente quando eu tinha 16 anos, como modelo e depois de alguns meses, fui para um concurso de miss também”, afirmou.
Perda do pai
Eva contou que um dos momentos mais marcantes de sua vida foi a perda do pai, quando ela tinha 9 anos. A partir disso, a jovem afirmou que sentia uma saudade muito grande, que cresceu ao longo dos anos.
“Quando eu comecei a entender as coisas, foi muito difícil. Então a agência [de modelos] e o concurso já não estavam mais suprindo essa minha vontade de ter alguém ao meu lado. Minha mãe sempre estava ao meu lado, mas eu ainda sentia a falta dele [do pai]. Então eu queria algo que preenchesse esse espaço no meu coração”, declarou.
Primeiro contato
Incentivada por amigos, Irmã Eva contou que, com 16 anos de idade, decidiu conhecer a igreja, que hoje é matriz da da Congregação Sancta Dei Genitrix, da qual faz parte. Lá, ela explicou que encontrou conforto em relação à perda do pai e ao vazio que sentia.
“Foi um momento muito especial da minha vida quando eu conheci essa paróquia maravilhosa e comecei a frequentar as missas. Foi quando comecei a ter um consolo na minha alma, no meu coração, nos meus sentimentos”, explicou.

Inspiração
Enquanto frequentava a Igreja, Eva contou que viu a madre Renata pela primeira vez e se inspirou nela para se tornar uma freira.
“A madre estava ando e eu vi ela e achei a coisa mais linda. Eu ei a irar a vocação, comecei a pesquisar mais sobre como era a vida de uma freira”, contou.
Após isso, Eva explicou que, com 18 anos, começou a trilhar o caminho como freira, fazendo seus votos provisórios que duraram cerca de 2 anos, até decidir seguir em definitivo.

Como freira, Eva contou que mantém o seu foco na caridade, realizando projetos sociais, como o exemplo em que a jovem foi filmada enquanto vendia terços em Goiânia para ajudar a comunidade da qual faz parte.
“Eu abdiquei de tudo. Decidi abandonar tudo porque eu vi que seria melhor para mim seguir dessa maneira mesmo. Para ajudar melhor na caridade e ter a minha vida 100% entregue”, pontuou.
Eva contou que viaja por diversas partes do Brasil realizando seus projetos sociais e ajudando pessoas em situação de vulnerabilidade social. “Nossa missão de evangelizar é muito mais do que levar um terço. Nossa missão também é levar Deus para aquelas pessoas e mostrar que você nunca vai estar sozinho, que sempre vai ter uma luz ali para preencher todo aquele vazio que está dentro de você”, concluiu.
